Welcome to NoorPause. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the NoorPause mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, starting a subscription, or otherwise downloading, accessing, or using NoorPause (including as a guest), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not create an account, subscribe, or use the Service.
NoorPause is a mindfulness application designed for Muslim users. It schedules short pause moments throughout the day and displays authentic Qur'an verses and hadiths during each pause; includes a complete Qur'an reader (printed-page and scroll layouts) with reading tools such as memorization mode and an on-device recitation recorder; a Hadith Library; prayer times, Qibla, and an adhkar and du'ā library with a tasbih counter; a halal ingredient scanner; weekly Qur'an-time leaderboards that subscribers can create and join (section 6C); optional Family mode features that allow parents to assign pauses and Qur'an reading goals to their children's linked accounts; and a community Feedback & Ideas board for subscribers.

You must be at least 13 years old to create a NoorPause account directly. If you are under 13, you may use NoorPause only through a Family account linked to a parent or legal guardian who has accepted these Terms on your behalf.
An account for a child under 13 must be created by, or under the direct supervision of, the child's parent or legal guardian and promptly linked to that guardian's Family account. We may disable or delete a child account that we learn was created for a child under 13 without this involvement.
If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the Service and agree to these Terms.

Creating an account with an email address requires proving you can receive mail there: we email a one-time code, and no account or password exists until you enter it. If you later use Sign in with Apple for an address whose email-and-password account was never confirmed this way, Apple's confirmation takes precedence: we turn that password off, sign the account out on your other devices, and tell you so — you can set a new password with "Forgot password?". An account that is part of a family link is not handed over this way; confirm its email through "Forgot password?" first, after which Sign in with Apple works. For your protection, "Forgot password?" gives the same reply whether or not an account exists for the address you enter.
Parts of NoorPause are free: the Qur'an reader, prayer times (including the Qibla compass), and the adhkar library are available to everyone, with or without an account. A subscription unlocks the rest of the app — mindful pauses and app blocking, the reading timer and Qur'an goals, Qur'an-time leaderboards, Family mode, the Halal Scanner, custom adhkar, learning, and performance insights.
NoorPause offers auto-renewing subscription plans:
The price you will be charged is the price displayed in the App Store at the moment of purchase, in your local currency. If the App Store price and any price mentioned elsewhere ever differ, the App Store price at purchase controls.
Eligible new subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel during the trial, your subscription begins at the end of the trial and you will be charged at the rate shown at purchase.
You can cancel your subscription at any time through Apple. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not issue refunds for partial periods; Apple may, at their discretion, issue refunds in certain circumstances.
We may change subscription prices from time to time. If we do, we will give you advance notice through the app or by email. Price changes only apply to billing periods that start after the notification, and you may cancel before the new price takes effect.
Solo and Family are separate App Store subscriptions. Buying a Family subscription turns your account into a Family account so you can link children; you can switch a Family account back to a Solo account at any time in Settings. Switching to Solo immediately unlinks every child: the children stop inheriting your subscription, the pauses and Qur'an reading goals you assigned them end, and you no longer see their activity. You can link them again if you return to Family. Changing the account type in the app does not change what Apple bills you — to stop paying for Family, or to move between the Solo and Family plans, change the subscription in your Apple ID settings. Apple decides when a change between plans takes effect: some changes apply immediately with a prorated charge or credit, others only at your next renewal date, and the app tells you which when you confirm. Which features are available always follows the subscription Apple and RevenueCat report for your account; if a Family subscription lapses, linked children lose access to subscription features until it is active again.
The Family plan allows a parent or legal guardian to link up to four child accounts.
By linking a child's account, you confirm that:
We collect from child accounts only what the account and the family features need — sign-in details (email address, and a password or Apple sign-in identifier), display name, optional profile photo, device timezone, pause activity and completion data, daily Qur'an reading time, daily tasbih counter totals, any parent-assigned daily Qur'an reading goal, the pairing code used for linking, and any emergency-unlock reason the child types — as described more fully in our Privacy Policy, and we never share it with third parties for marketing purposes. You may unlink a child account at any time from within the app. Qur'an-time leaderboards are not available on child accounts: a child account cannot create, join, or appear on one.
Unlinking a child, switching the parent's account to Solo, the lapse of the Family subscription, or the termination or deletion of the parent's account, ends Family Mode for that child: the parent no longer sees the child's activity and the child is no longer covered by the family subscription. The child's account otherwise continues as a standalone account under these Terms and our Privacy Policy unless deletion is requested. As stated in section 2, a child under 13 may use NoorPause only through an account linked to a parent or legal guardian; we may disable or delete an under-13 account that no longer has one.
NoorPause displays the Qur'an in the Uthmani script following the layout of the Madinah Mushaf (typeface and text courtesy of the King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex), together with an English translation (Marmaduke Pickthall, public domain), Latin transliteration, and Arabic tafsir (al-Tafsir al-Muyassar). Hadiths shown during pauses are sourced from canonical collections including Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Sunan Abi Dawud, Sunan an-Nasa'i, and Sunan Ibn Majah. The Hadith Library additionally provides the full Arabic text of Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim and Jami' at-Tirmidhi (including al-Tirmidhi's own classical gradings, in his words); it contains no translations, and hadith numbers shown there are the app's own running sequence within each book, not the numbering of any printed edition. Full attributions appear in the app under Settings → Credits & Sources.
The adhkar and du'ā library is our own compilation. Each entry shows its source: Qur'anic du'ās are taken verbatim from the Madinah Mushaf text with Pickthall's translation, and every hadith du'ā gives the wording of a single narration from Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Jami' at-Tirmidhi, Sunan Abi Dawud, Sunan an-Nasa'i, Sunan Ibn Majah, Musnad Ahmad, al-Adab al-Mufrad, Sahih Ibn Hibban or Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah. We include only narrations found in al-Bukhari or Muslim or graded authentic (sahih) or good (hasan) by recognized hadith scholars; where recognized scholars genuinely differ on a narration's grading, the card says so. The English meanings, transliterations and benefit notes in this library were written for NoorPause and are not a published translation; any errors in them are ours to correct.
While we take care to verify the authenticity of every reminder and lesson, translations and explanatory material are human works: we make no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of translations, attributions, or chains of transmission, and we welcome corrections at support@imanlock.com.
NoorPause is a wellbeing and devotional tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, or therapeutic advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis or a condition such as compulsive device use that concerns you, please seek help from a qualified professional or your local emergency services. Never rely on the app as a substitute for professional care.
NoorPause's app-blocking features are built on Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls and Device Activity) frameworks. By enabling them you acknowledge and agree that:
Your Qur'an recitation recordings are yours and stay on your device — they are never uploaded to us, and no licence to us is needed or taken for them (see the Privacy Policy, section 1.8). Some features let you submit content to the Service — for example an optional profile photo, a nickname for a linked child, a short reason when using an emergency unlock, or a post on the Feedback & Ideas board (a Premium feature, not available on child accounts). You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service (for example, showing an emergency-unlock reason to the linked parent). You represent that your content is yours, is accurate, and does not violate any law or third-party right. We may remove content that violates these Terms. This licence ends when the content or your account is deleted, except as needed to comply with law. Feedback board posts work as follows: submissions are reviewed before they appear, and we may decline, remove, or unpublish any post at any time without giving a reason; approved posts are shown to other signed-in users without your name or any identifying details. By submitting a feature idea or suggestion, you agree that we may use, implement, adapt, or ignore it freely, without any obligation, attribution, or compensation — please do not submit ideas you consider confidential or proprietary. Because recitation recordings and other on-device content (custom dhikr, reading preferences, saved places) exist only on your device, we cannot back them up, restore them, or recover them: deleting the app, or losing, resetting, or damaging your device, permanently deletes them, and we are not responsible for that loss. In a read-together session, the highlights and notes you write as host are sent to the people in that session, and each of them keeps, on their own device, a copy of every note that reached them — even if they left or were removed before it ended: you grant them a personal, non-commercial licence to keep and read that copy, and you accept that you cannot recall it afterwards. Do not share content in a session that you are not free to share.
Qur'an-time leaderboards. By creating or joining a leaderboard you choose to show the other members of that board your display name, your Qur'an reading minutes for the current week (shown only up to the board's goal), whether you have reached the goal, and your streak of weeks reached, for as long as you are a member. The app asks for your consent to this before you first use leaderboards, and the Privacy Policy (sections 1.10 and 4A) describes exactly what is shown and stored. Weeks run from Monday to Monday in the creator's time zone; a member who joins after a Monday is counted toward their streak from the following Monday. You can leave a board you joined at any time (the creator of a board deletes it instead of leaving it), after which nothing of yours is shown on it — but the members may already have seen what was shown while you were on it, and we cannot recall that. A board's eight-digit code can be seen and passed on by any member, so treat a board as open to anyone who has its code. The creator of a board may change its goal (taking effect from the following Monday), remove members (who cannot rejoin unless the creator allows it), and delete the board; if the creator withdraws the leaderboard consent or deletes their account, the board is deleted for everyone. Standings are recalculated from the reading each member's phone has synced whenever a board is viewed, so they can change as phones sync, and we do not guarantee their accuracy or timing. Each account may create up to five boards, join up to twenty, and a board holds up to fifty members; we may change these limits.
The Halal Scanner is an informational aid. It uses AI only to transcribe the ingredient list from your photo; each recognized ingredient is then matched against a database we compiled from published guidance of recognized halal-certification bodies (such as IFANCA, JAKIM, MUI, HMC, HFA, and SANHA). We have done our best to verify every entry against those references, but mistakes are possible — you must double-check anything that matters to you. By using it you acknowledge and agree that:
Prayer times and the Qibla direction are calculated on your device using standard astronomical formulas, the calculation method and Asr school set in the app (defaults apply until you change them in Settings), and the location, clock, and timezone your device reports. When you use NoorPause, you agree NOT to:
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or for abusive behaviour toward other people using the Service. You can report a participant from inside a session, and a host can remove someone from a session they are hosting; you can report a member from inside a leaderboard, and a board's creator can remove a member; we review reports and may remove content, end a session, delete a board, and suspend or terminate the accounts involved. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms.
The NoorPause app — including its design, code, user interface, brand identity, and proprietary content (excluding the public-domain Qur'anic text and properly attributed hadiths) — is owned by NoorPause and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
If you believe content available through the Service infringes your copyright or other rights, email support@imanlock.com with (a) where the content appears, (b) evidence of your rights, and (c) your contact details. We will review promptly and remove or correct content where appropriate.
Your use of NoorPause is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described there.
You may delete your account at any time from within the app: Settings → Delete Account (at the bottom of the Settings screen). Account deletion immediately revokes your authentication credentials and removes your account from active services.
Deletion immediately and permanently removes the information that identifies you and the free-text content stored about you, as described in the Privacy Policy (section 6). It also removes you from every Qur'an-time leaderboard, deletes the leaderboards you created for all their members, and deletes your leaderboard consent record. De-identified usage statistics that can no longer be connected to you may be retained for product improvement.
If you have an active subscription when you delete your account, you must also cancel the subscription separately through your Apple ID Settings to stop further billing — account deletion alone does not cancel an Apple subscription.
We may suspend or terminate your access to NoorPause if:
If we terminate your account for cause, we are not obligated to refund any subscription fees.
We are continuously improving NoorPause and may add, change, or remove individual features from time to time, including moving features between the free and subscription tiers for new purchases. If we remove or materially degrade a core feature of a paid subscription during a period you have already paid for, you may contact Apple for a refund of the unused portion under Apple's refund policies, and nothing in this section limits your statutory rights.
Automatic limits and required updates. To keep the Service available and to protect accounts, we apply automatic limits — for example on sign-in attempts, verification codes and password-reset emails per address or per network, on plan and pairing changes, on leaderboard code attempts and board creation, and on Halal Scanner use per account. When a limit is reached you may be asked to wait (usually a few minutes, at most about an hour) before trying again; this is not a suspension of your account, and it never signs you out. We may also require you to install an updated version of the app before continuing to use your account, for example when an older version can no longer work safely with our servers; the free reading features remain available without an account meanwhile.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NoorPause is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, conditions, or statutory consumer guarantees; where that is the case, they apply to the minimum extent and duration the law requires.

Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to the Service, taken together, is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid for the Service (whether to us directly or through Apple) in the twelve months preceding the first event giving rise to a claim, or (b) fifty US dollars ($50 USD).
What these Terms never limit. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. If you are a consumer, you may have mandatory rights under the laws of your country, province, or state (including consumer-protection legislation in Canada, the EU, the United Kingdom, and Australia); nothing in these Terms reduces those rights, and where a provision of these Terms conflicts with them, your statutory rights prevail to the extent of the conflict.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless NoorPause and its operator from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorney's fees) brought by a third party arising from: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) your misuse of the Service; (c) content you submit to the Service; (d) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party; (e) linking a child account without the authority to do so; or (f) allowing another person to use your account. We may assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter subject to this indemnity, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defence.
This indemnity does not apply to the extent a claim arises from our own breach of these Terms, our negligence, or our violation of law, and it applies only to the extent permitted by the consumer-protection law of your place of residence.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and where appropriate notify you in the app or by email.
Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the Service.
Because you obtain NoorPause through Apple's App Store, the following terms also apply and prevail over anything inconsistent in these Terms, solely with respect to the iOS app:
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts located in the Province of Ontario, Canada, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Consumer carve-outs. If you are a consumer resident in a jurisdiction whose law grants you the right to sue or be sued in your local courts, or to the protection of your local consumer law (for example the EU, the United Kingdom, Quebec, or Australia), nothing in this section deprives you of that right. Either party may also bring an individual claim in small-claims court in the claimant's place of residence, where available.
This section 17A applies only if you reside in the United States. It does not apply to consumers in Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, or any other jurisdiction whose law does not permit it, and it does not limit the consumer carve-outs in section 17. For disputes covered by this section, this section applies instead of the Ontario-courts provision in section 17. The U.S. Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this section 17A, notwithstanding the choice of Ontario law in section 17.
Informal resolution first. Before starting arbitration or court proceedings, either party must send the other a written description of the dispute (to support@imanlock.com, or to the email address on your account) and allow 60 days to resolve it informally.
Agreement to arbitrate. Any remaining dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that (a) either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and (b) either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual-property rights. Arbitration will be conducted in English by videoconference or, if an in-person hearing is required, in the county where you reside. We will pay the fees that the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules require the business to pay.
Class waiver. YOU AND WE EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may award relief only in favour of the individual party seeking relief and only to the extent necessary to resolve that party's individual claim. If this class waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) shall proceed in court under section 17, and the remainder of this section remains in effect.
Batch arbitration. If 25 or more demands for arbitration raising similar claims are filed by or with the assistance of the same law firm or organization, the parties agree that the AAA shall administer them in batches of up to 25 demands per batch, with a single set of filing and administrative fees per batch per side.
Opt-out. You may reject this section 17A, without affecting any other part of these Terms, by emailing support@imanlock.com with the subject line "Arbitration opt-out", including the email address associated with your account, within 30 days after you first accept these Terms or within 30 days after this section first becomes part of the Terms, whichever is later.
